05 / Key Decisions
Key Decisions
Learning happens on bad connections
A regional education product cannot assume fibre. Interface weight, session resilience, and graceful degradation were treated as accessibility requirements — a student who cannot load the class is excluded, not inconvenienced.
Two products in one interface
Self-paced courses and scheduled live sessions behave nothing alike. The navigation had to make the difference obvious without splitting the platform into two disconnected halves.
Progress as motivation
Tracking exists to make the next step obvious. Every progress surface answers one question — what do I do now — because completion rates rise when the interface removes the decision.
Calm interface, long sessions
People stare at this for hours. Restrained contrast, generous spacing, and a quiet colour system keep a two-hour session from becoming visually exhausting.
